Method
1.Place rhubarb, zest, juice, allspice and sugar in a saucepan over low heat. Bring to a gentle simmer; cover.
2.Simmer gently, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes or until rhubarb is very soft.
3.Meanwhile, preheat oven-grill to high. Grill cake slices for 3 minutes or until golden on both sides.
4.Divide cake among serving plates, then top with rhubarb. Serve with custard.
