1.Preheat oven to 16O°C/140°C fan forced. Grease and line a 21 x 1Ocm (base measurement) loaf pan with baking paper, extending paper at long sides for handles.
2.Using food processor on pulse, process butter, sugar, eggs, flour and milk in short quick bursts until smooth. Fold in pear and chocolate bits. Spoon into prepared pan; smooth surface. Bake for 1 hour or until a skewer inserted at centre comes out clean. Stand in pan for 10 minutes. Turn out loaf onto a wire rack to cool completely.
3.Place cream in a small saucepan over moderate heat, Bring to a simmer, then add chocolate. Stir until smooth. Cool. Beat with a spoon until fluffy. Spread over top of cold loaf. Serve topped with white chocolate curls
