Method
1.Preheat oven to 180°C. Line 2 baking trays with baking paper.
2.Combine corn flakes, slivered almonds, sultanas and glacé cherries in a large bowl. Stir in condensed milk until ingredients are well coated.
3.Drop tablespoonfuls of mixture onto prepared trays, flattening slightly. Bake 10-12 minutes, until lightly browned. Cool completely on trays.
4.If desired, spread base of biscuits with chocolate, making wavy lines with a fork when almost set. Chill in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
Allowing florentines to cool completely before removing them from baking trays is one of the best ways to stop them breaking as you lift them off.
