Caramelised apple slice tart

Base 350g packet feather flake puff pastry 2 tablespoons raw sugar 567g can apple slices 3 red skinned apples 25g butter 3 tablespoons sugar 300ml cream 2 tablespoons apple syrup Thaw pastry and unroll

Method

1.Thaw pastry and unroll on to a baking tray. Cut to fit the tray if necessary. Sprinkle with sugar and bake at 220C for 15 minutes.
2.Purée canned apple in a food processor. Wash whole apples. Cut into quarters and remove seeds. Slice apples finely.
3.Melt butter in a large frying pan. Add apple slices and cook for 2 minutes. Sprinkle over sugar. Gently turn apple slices until soft. Cool.
4.Spread apple purée over pastry base. Place apple slice mixture on top. Whip cream and apple syrup together and serve with the tart.
