Method

1.Preheat oven to 180°C. Place 4 x 1¼-cup ovenproof dishes in a large baking pan.
2.In a medium bowl, whisk milk, eggs, cream, sugar and vanilla together until well combined.
3.Layer croissant, cherries, coconut and chocolate into dishes. Gradually strain egg mixture over layers to cover. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
4.Add enough boiling water to come halfway up the sides of the dishes. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until custards are just set.

You can use other frozen or canned fruit in this recipe. Try fruit bread or brioche as a delicious alternative to the croissants.
