Method
1.Preheat oven to 220°C.
2.Spread butter over base of a deep 25cm frying pan. Sprinkle sugar evenly over butter. Top with apples and pears, cut-side up.
3.Patch pastry together to cover pan with 2cm overhang. Tuck overhanging pastry inside pan. Chill for 20 minutes.
4.Heat pan on high for 20-25 minutes, until butter and sugar are bubbling and brown. Bake for 20 minutes, until pastry is golden and crisp.
5.Place a serving dish on pan. Invert onto dish so fruit is on top. Serve hot with cream or ice-cream, if desired.
